This personal animation series was inspired by vintage matchbook illustrations I discovered on Pinterest. After tracing the artwork through reverse image searches, I found that many of the designs originated from Polish matchbooks produced in the 1950s.

To bring the illustrations to life, I first reconstructed each image in Photoshop, separating the artwork into individual, editable layers. The layered files were then imported into After Effects, where I combined traditional keyframe animation with puppet pin animation to create subtle, organic movement while preserving the charm of the original illustrations.

The matchbook "photographs" featured throughout the video were generated using Nano Banana 2 and then refined in Photoshop to better match the look and feel of the vintage artwork.
